The Legacy of The Yard Bell

"A town with two great claims to culinary fame deserves a tavern that treats them with appropriate reverence."

Originally constructed in the early Victorian era to serve the busy horse-drawn trade routes traversing through Melton Mowbray, The Yard Bell has remained an unwavering anchor of the community for over 180 years.

We take pride in our position as a champion of regional food heritage. Our pies are hand-crafted daily using local pork and lard, and our cheese boards feature only the finest Stilton selected directly from nearby dairies.
