Honest food, grown in Rutland soil.

An independent kitchen and larder celebrating the micro-climate, makers, and rich estates of England's smallest county.

Our Heritage

Rooted in the local loam.

Named after the quiet, reflective waters of nearby Rutland Water, The Still Pantry was born from a desire to return to the kitchen gardens and artisanal skills that once defined our historic market towns.

Led by Chef Patron Arthur Pendelton, our menus are defined entirely by what is ready to dig, clip, or forage within thirty miles of our front door. We bake our own sourdough, churn our own butter, and preserve the late-summer gluts to carry us through the winter.
