The Snug is Calling

"The Fox & Copper remains one of Leicestershire’s finest examples of keeping the old ways alive. Perfect cellarmanship and a kitchen dedicated to fire." — The Harborough Journal

The Craft of the Freehouse

Three Unbreakable Rules

01
Cask Conditioning in Cellar

Cellar Integrity

We condition our cask ales in an active, naturally cooled brick cellar. Monitored twice daily, served through hand-pulled copper engines at precisely 11°C.

02
Hearth Fireplace

The Leicestershire Larder

Our kitchen cooks strictly in step with local estates. Beef is sourced from nearby farms, dry-aged on the bone for 35 days, and prepped daily on our oak butcher's block.

03
Wood-fired Hearth Cooking

Cooked by Fire

No modern convection ovens here. We run an open kitchen pass fueled by local Leicestershire ash and oak logs, imparting an unmistakable, primeval depth of flavour.

A Sanctuary of Cask and Conversation

Built as a coaching house in the heart of Market Harborough, The Fox & Copper was born of a simple philosophy: provide shelter from the cold, honest beer for the weary, and a blazing fire that never dies.

Today, we hold fast to those very same principles. You'll find no flashing televisions or blaring neon lights here. Instead, we offer deep-seated leather chairs, the steady hum of good company, and floors worn smooth by generations of locals.

"There are no strangers at The Fox & Copper, only friends who haven't yet shared a pint of bitter."

— Arthur Pendelton, Innkeeper & Guardian of the Cellar
