Our Philosophy

We do not simply maintain. We curate.

Every estate tells a story. At Meadow & Edge, we approach garden maintenance through a curator's lens. We look at the interplay between the hard, defined lines of your drystone boundaries and the soft, sprawling character of the native flora.

By treating each property as an ongoing "casebook," we log seasonal evolutions, soil structure improvements, and ecological restoration processes. This rigorous documentation ensures your outdoor spaces do not just survive, but mature beautifully over decades.

The Limestone Slope

Perched on an extreme 40-degree incline overlooking the Derwent Valley, this garden required structural restoration of its collapsing limestone terracing. We reconstructed 60 linear metres of drystone walling without mortar, allowing native alpine ferns to populate the crevices, and introduced architectural hornbeam hedges to define distinct viewing points.

The Walled Meadow Boundary

A historic 2-acre kitchen garden and orchard that had fallen into heavy moss and thistle saturation. Our brief was to introduce a low-intervention wildflower meadow matrix directly bordering newly laid Belgian block paths. The result is a pristine, structural walkway framed by a changing display of native perennials.
