Tucked away in the stone-paved streets of Oakham, we are a proper British pub. No shortcuts, no fuss. Just hand-pulled Rutland bitters, dry-aged pies, and a warm bench by the coals.

At Hearth & Hops, we treat the British pub as a craft. Our cask ales are sourced from independent breweries within a forty-mile radius, settled carefully in our vaulted cellar, and poured through hand-pulls polished daily.
Our kitchen works hand-in-glove with Rutland farmers. If it wasn't dug from the soil or reared in the meadows nearby this morning, you won't find it on our timber ledger tonight.
Edward & Sarah, Keepers of the InnOur hearth is the heart of the dining room. We burn seasoned local hardwood to impart a subtle, sweet smoke to our signature dry-aged steaks and slow-simmered suet puddings.
We keep half of our tables open for walk-ins, but if you're planning a dinner or bringing a larger party, submit a quiet enquiry here. We’ll verify our ledger and respond within a few hours.
